Although Clenbuterol is primarily a beta-2 agonist —which makes it great for weight loss— the fat loss effect is a lot different in humans than it is in animals because humans don’t have as many beta-2 receptors as animals do.
So the anabolic effect seen in animals will most likely not be found in humans (or at least it won’t be found on the same level as it is in animals).
Mild Anabolic Properties
As far as its impact on the human body is concerned, we believe Clenbuterol has a mild anabolic effect on humans.
This really translates to being a muscle-sparing effect or an anti-catabolic effect.
Therefore, in order to use the substance as an anabolic agent, one would have to consume unsafe doses of the compound.
In other words, you should not be using Clenbuterol if you want to burn fat while at the same time building muscle mass. Anavar or Winstrol are better for this.
It is sometimes used as an anti-catabolic supplement after a steroid cycle to protect muscle mass from deterioration due to a nutrient repartitioning effect.
This is referred to as post-cycle therapy. Let’s say you use a steroid like Anadrol or Dianabol to bulk up and build lean muscle.
After taking this steroid, you will definitely gain some muscle mass, but you will also see some water retention and may have a “puffy” appearance.
To get back to looking ripped, you need to use a cutting cycle so that you can eliminate subcutaneous fat that is preventing muscles from looking lean and inhibiting vascularity.
In a cutting cycle, you want to be able to preserve those muscle gains while also reducing body fat – which is a difficult thing to do if you are not using anti-catabolic compounds like Clenbuterol to protect your muscle.
Using Clen in your PCT is pretty common, helping to eliminate the bloated look and revealing a hard, ripped body.
